THE MARCARE-TEAM

 

The MARCARE®-Management is handled by a highly experienced leadership, being well aware of the scope of ships’ and ports’ security based on the know-how of seamen with extraordinary qualifications as approved auditors by the GL (Germanischer Lloyd) at Hamburg, Det Norske Veritas at Oslo and the Maritime College at Warsash/Southampton, respectively by a long termed cooperation with the Authorities as managers or instructors.

 

Chief Eng. Bernhard Loerts joined the merchant marine after having gone through his apprenticeship as agricultural machinery mechanist and subsequently kept on advancing his educations as chief engineer on several merchant vessels. Later on he worked in the maritime supply sector as operations manager. Afterwards he achieved his qualifications as Auditor / Lead Auditor with Det Norske Veritas at Oslo. Since January 1999 he has been working for Messrs. MARCARE GmbH and took over the management in July 2007.

 

Capt. Andreas R. Schepers opened MCC in 2008 to provide expertise in maritime management to shipping companies (owners and operators). Born in 1968, he partly grew up on his father’s coaster. Later graduating as master mariner, he served as Captain and developed maritime management systems well before the ISM Code came into force. Capt. Schepers then worked several years in shipping companies as superintendent and DP. He implemented the ISPS Code in a 40-vessel-fleet trading into the USA. In 2008 he founded the company MCC at Haren/Ems. On January 1st, 2010, Mr Schepers merged with the well-established company MARCARE, running the branch at Haren/Ems.

 

Capt. Siegfried Ottinger is a Master Mariner and was leading vessels worldwide before he settled as harbour master at Lomé/Togo in West Africa. During those 25 years at Lomé he represented important classification societies and P&I Clubs as auditor. For his personal engagement in several development aid projects of West Africa in 1987 he obtained the Federal Cross of Merit. In October 1995 he graduated as Assessor / Lead Assessor at the Maritime College at Warsash/Southampton. In July 1998 he became managing director of Messrs. MARCARE.

 

Mrs Ingrid Wheeler is tradeswoman for wholesale, a. o. with a long termed overseas working experience including US personnel and forwarding agency matters. Since April 2003 she has been working with MARCARE as a secretary and additionally supports the inspection coordination, whenever needed. She carries out all German and English company correspondence with national and international business partners.

 

Mrs Gitta Hanegraaf is a graduated foreign language correspondent clerk since July 1985, obtaining her knowledge amongst others working for six years in the marketing-/ export sector of a big frozen fish company with international activities, as well as working and living abroad. In January 1999 she joined MARCARE to organize and coordinate the various kinds of safety inspections on behalf of the Flag State of Antigua and Barbuda, W.I. (ADOMS IID) and to recruit new inspectors, when needed.  

 

Mr. Nils B. Beyersdorff. After completing his service of four years in in the German Navy, he studied nautical science in Elsfleth/Germany. Following his diploma he spent several years as deck officer at sea. Since February 2011 Nils Beyersdorff is a part of the MARCARE team, taking care of processing safety inspections and contraventions of COLREG.

 

Mrs Ute Brettschneider re-skilled to an office clerk and became MARCARE employee in April 2006, assisting the whole team in all different scopes and matters.

 

Mr Christian Stritz is a graduated industrial engineer for shipping company logistics. After his basic military service in the German navy and his studies he joined the MARCARE-Team in 2008 to mainly focus on the quality management system. His scope of duties comprises the consultancy, implementation of safety management plans and systems, as well as the ship specific MARS-programs.

 

Mrs Heike Klaas is industrial business management clerk. For many years she worked as a secretary and in the processing of important industrial enterprises. Since the beginning of 2010 she is employed with the MARCARE-branch at Haren/Ems to execute the daily office work and assist in the customer’s service as well as in the preparation of audits.

 

Christoph Sawert is a graduated industrial engineer for shipping company logistics and made experience as a nautical superintendent of a shipping company for several years. His responsibility comprised the quality and environmental management. Beginning of November 2010 he joined MARCARE-branch, Haren/Ems, to care about diverse shipping companies as well as to prepare and carry out audits in Germany and abroad.

 

Capt. Wolfgang Dittmar was engaged as a director in the technical management / administration of a worldwide acting container and shipping company for many years, after he had become a master mariner. Obtaining a large variety of experience in several companies, he has been working part time with MARCARE as a casualty investigator for years.

 

Mrs Deike Beeck has been working as assistant tax consultant for many years since she joined MARCARE in 1998. She is responsible for all financial matters, as well as taxes and wages.  

 

Frauke Koopmann has been working as assistant tax consultant for many years and supports the MARCARE accounting on a part time basis.
